K8-Pi Raspberry Pi Controller Cap by Kulp Lights
The K8-Pi by Kulp Lights is a cape for the Raspberry Pi designed to drive WS2811 LED pixels. It has 8 local string ports (eFused with LED indicators) that can each drive up to 800 pixels at 40 frames per second or up to 1,500 pixels at 20 frames per second. The three RJ45 differential ports can output up to an additional 72 strings by utilizing smart receivers or up to 12 additional strings by using regular receiver boards. The expansion connector allows for even further expansion via a 16 string port expansion card or a remote differential expansion card. This version also provides a Real Time Clock, temperature sensors, a header for an OLED display (included), and push buttons for navigating menus on the display.
The BeagleBone is powered by the same power supply powering the pixels. There are jumpers on the board to select either 5V or 12V power. At the factory, this is set to 12 volts. You only need to make changes to jumpers if you are using a 5 volt power supply.
This board requires a Raspberry Pi to operate (sold separately).
